The Valdambra area has a long history behind it. Little fortified villages were built in defence of the area during the Middle Ages leaving traces and remains which are still of considerable importance today.
Our path unwinds in search of these little hamlets still unspoilt in their traditions and in the time-honoured skills and crafts of their inhabitants: grape harvesting, olive pressing, tobacco picking and the construction of heather brooms.
During our trip we will stop to visit a winery, a historical olive mill with its age-old millstones, a watermill and a traditional handmade heather broom workshop .
In some places time seems to have come to a standstill!
